Hi, I’m Julia Mitchell

through my company, peaceful strings, I specialise in harp for relaxation, meditation and wellbeing.

Certified through the International Harp programme (IHTP), which is approved under the US National Standards Board of Therapeutic Musicians, I have been playing the harp for 16 years and am the UK representative of the IHTP.


I have studied Harp Therapy with pioneering American Harp Therapist Christina Tourin, and the Conistabile method of harp and guided imagery with leading Italian Harp Therapist Ludwig Conistabile. I regularly attend harp therapy conferences.


As well as my work in hospice, hospitals and community centres I have extensive experience in delivering in person and online harp relaxations for people outside healthcare settings.

There is no work for you to do, beyond completing a short feedback form to help me understand your side of the experience. Your part is simply to listen and relax.

At the end of the 3 sessions I will send you an MP3 of a recording that encompasses those things that worked best for you. This is for you to keep and play whenever you need to.

A Personal Note From Me

I know what it's like to feel overwhelmed by tasks and anxious about all you have to do. In the past I suffered badly from stress when my work demands at the time started taking over my whole life. I couldn't sleep or eat much, my cortisol levels were sky high and I couldn't find any way to switch off.
I will never know for sure but I feel sure this would have helped me.

QUESTION: CAN ANYONE DO THIS?

Answer: Connect to your Calm is for anyone with stable mental health. It is not recommended for people suffering from serious psychological problems such as psychosis or schizophrenia.


QUESTION: WHAT TECHNOLOGY IS REQUIRED?

Answer: Reliable internet connection and zoom. Headphones are also recommended, but not essential.


QUESTION: WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND?

Answer: Hopefully it will be clear at the initial free consultation whether this is going to be right for you or not, but if you change your mind at any point I will refund your money minus the sessions you have already had.

Answer: Connect to your Calm is for anyone with stable mental health. It is not recommended for people suffering from serious psychological problems such as psychosis or schizophrenia.


QUESTION: WHAT TECHNOLOGY IS REQUIRED?

Answer: Reliable internet connection and zoom. Headphones are also recommended, but not essential.


QUESTION: WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND?

Answer: Hopefully it will be clear at the initial free consultation whether this is going to be right for you or not, but if you change your mind at any point I will refund your money minus the sessions you have already had.
